Interested in working with local grade school and high school aged kids? REACT is the University of Illinois Chemistry Department's official outreach organization, and we are open to all majors and interests!
We send student volunteers to area grade schools and high schools to perform experiments and demos with kids to teach them more about how fascinating chemistry can be and inspire a curiosity in science from a young age. We also offer some special events as well. All training and transportation is provided!
If you are a James Scholar, participation in our program could also count for honors credit in your general chemistry class. We also offer a program for those students in organic chemistry classes.
Orientation dates are Sept. 17 (1024 Chem Annex), 18th (100 Noyes), and 19th (1024 Chem Annex)at 5:30pm (general chemistry) and 6:30pm (organic chemistry).
Hope to see you there!
