The Flaherty lab is looking for a chemical engineering (or related) undergraduate student to work as an undergraduate researcher on a project on mechanistic understandings of electrochemical alkene epoxidations for sustainable chemical production. In this position, you will combine traditional kinetic and electrochemical analysis with a variety of experimental techniques, including flow reactions, catalyst synthesis, characterization, and spectroscopy.
Undergraduate researchers would spend 12 hours per week minimum in the lab. This position also requires a minimum commitment of 2 semesters, starting Fall 2022, with the possibility for Summer 2023 and extension to the 2023-2024 school year. Incoming sophomores or juniors are preferred.
