UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO MD/PHD VIRTUAL INFO SESSION FOR UNDERREPRESENTED STUDENTS IN MEDICINE/SCIENCE

Date
10/22/21

The University of Chicago’s Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) and Building the Next Generation of Physician Scientists (BNGAP) is hosting a FREE ½-day virtual event for you as a college student on October 23 (10:30am-3:00pm CT) to raise awareness about the MD/PhD pathway (have you heard about it?) and to provide an opportunity for you to network with peers and presenters nationally. You will hear from real-life physician-scientist and current MD/PhD students. Topics covered include… the role of physician-scientists, the significance of mentoring, diversity and inclusion in the field, admissions, and more! Invest in your career exploration and future success by attending the full slate of events.

The session is open to all but tailored to 1st or 2nd year college students who are underrepresented in medicine, per BNGAP’s mission and the overall focus of this event (racial/ethnic minority students, those who identify as women, and those who identify as LGBT). Register here by October 20 to secure your spot and to view the full schedule!

This session is right for you if any of the below apply to you…

  • You’re considering going to medical school.
  • You like your science classes.
  • You’re interested in scientific research.
  • You’re still exploring your options.
  • You want to network with peers nationally.
