All students are required to submit or update their Spring 2021 Student Location address in Student Self-Service in order to be in compliance with COVID testing. Student Location refers to the physical address where you will be staying during the Spring 2021 semester.

Failure to take action by February 12th or inputting false or intentionally inaccurate information will result in referral to the Office of Student Conflict Resolution for disciplinary or other corrective action, including dismissal from the University.

In order to ensure the health and safety of our campus, COVID-19 testing and participation in contact tracing are mandatory for all local students. Having accurate address information to know who is in the local community is essential. Note: If you relocate for any reason during the semester, students must update their Student Location address in Self-Service.

If you already have a Student Location address in Self-Service:

•             In Self-Service, select “University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign”.

•             Log in using your NetID and Password

•             In the Main Menu, select “Personal Information”.

•             In the Personal Information Menu, select “Addresses & Phones”.

•             Under the “Student Location” address, click the “Current” link.

•             Update the “Valid From This Date” field with the date you will be relocating to the Champaign-Urbana area or enter the current date if you are remaining in your current location. Please note the date must be entered as MM/DD/YYYY, for example, 01/25/2021.

•             Update the “Until This Date” field with the estimated date you plan to leave the Champaign-Urbana area or your current location. If you do not know when you will be changing locations, leave this field blank.

•             Update your address, if necessary.

•             Click “Submit” to save your Student Location address.

•             You can then exit Self-Service by clicking “EXIT” in the upper-right corner.

If you are entering your Student Location address in Self-Service for the first time:

•             In Self-Service, select “University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign”.

•             Log in using your NetID and Password.

•             In the Main Menu, select “Personal Information”.

•             In the Personal Information menu, select “Addresses & Phones”.

•             In the dropdown for “Type of Address to Insert,” select “Student Location” then click “Submit”.

•             In the “Valid From This Date” field, enter the date you will be returning to Champaign-Urbana or the current date if you are remaining at your current location. You must enter the date as MM/DD/YYYY, for example, 01/25/2021.

•             Complete the Address Lines 1-3 to the best of your ability. Address Line 1 is a required field that should include your location street name and number. If you don’t know a specific apartment number, for example, you can leave Address Lines 2 and/or 3 blank.

•             Input the City of your location and select the appropriate State or Province from the drop-down. The ZIP or Postal Code and County fields will populate automatically based on City and State or Province. If your location is international, not in the U.S. or Canada, you can enter your nation first, then please provide a complete postal address including street, city and postal code where applicable.

•             Once you have completed the remaining fields to the best of your ability (phone information is not required), click “Submit”.

•             You can then exit Self-Service by clicking “EXIT” in the upper-right corner.

If you are living in a University-owned apartment such as Ashton Woods or Orchard Downs, please enter your address in Line 1 as building street address followed by your apartment number/letter. For example, 2309 S. First St. Apt XXX. If you are staying in a University-owned residence hall, please enter your room number and hall in Line 1 and the street address for the building in Line 2. For example, Line 1: XXX Sherman Hall, Line 2: 909 S. Fifth St.

If you are relocating to the Champaign-Urbana area later in the semester, please update your Student Location address using your current location, current date in the “Valid From This Date” field, and the date you intend to relocate in the “Until This Date” field. You must update this address in Self-Service with the appropriate “Valid From This Date” and “Until This Date” information when you relocate.

Release of student information is restricted based on the criteria of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974.
