Disability Resources & Educational Services (DRES) is looking for a student to assist another student with a disability in Chem 103 lab.

Job Description: The Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) seeks students interested in helping students with disabilities with completion of manual, fine motor tasks during Chemistry laboratory courses for the Fall 2022 semester as Physical Assistants. No experience is necessary but preference is given to undergraduate level students who know their way around chemistry labs and have some familiarity with hardware and equipment in labs. Desired candidates should not currently be enrolled in CHEM 102 or CHEM 103 courses. This position does not serve as a lab partner. The position requires good listening skills and the ability to take step by step verbal instruction from others to serve as the hands of students needing assistance.

Requirements: The Physical Assistant hired must be available for the full lab periods weekly from the start date to December 9, 2022. Lab periods are Fridays from 12:00 pm to 1:50 pm. Those who cannot commit to weekly, full lab periods for the duration of the Fall semester should not apply. Assistance may also be needed with students for post-lab data entry. Should be ready to begin work as soon as possible after completion and clearance of the Human Resources process.

Skills: Good communication and listening skills, ability to take instructions, and possess a high degree of patience.
