Before installing the cap, check to see that the bottoms of the head bolts are roughly flush with the inside surface of the cap.

Screw the cap on the bomb until contact is made with the spacer on the inner head and then loosen the cap ~1/8 turn.

Tighten the head bolts on both small and large bombs according to the sequence shown below and the following schedule:

• 1st round: Tighten the bolts lightly with a wrench until contact is made between all the bolts and the spacer on the inner head.
• 2nd round: Tighten to 150 inch-pounds with a torque wrench.
• 3rd round: Tighten to 300 inch-pounds with a torque wrench.
• 4th round: Tighten to 350 inch-pounds with a torque wrench.
