H-1 visas generally take 14 months to process without premium processing, 8-10 months with premium processing, to obtain the approval for the H-1 status. The H-1 visa holder will then need to proceed with the interview/other processes with their US Consulate/Embassy where they are located; J-1 visas generally take 1-3 months for the J-1 visa holder to receive the documents. If the J-1 applicant is already in the US, please allow 4-6 months for a change of status.
