Mayo Clinic and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign have once again partnered to provide an outstanding opportunity for our undergraduates to participate in the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program at Mayo Clinic. This 10-week program invites students to work alongside Mayo Clinic researchers on cutting-edge biomedical research.

Because our students are known for their innovative excellence, up to seven fellowships in this highly successful program have been reserved for University of Illinois students chosen through a special pre-selection process. This pre-selection process allows for University of Illinois students to submit their SURF application to a selection committee of Illinois faculty and staff and to receive notification of acceptance to the SURF program by Jan. 9. 

We are now accepting Illinois pre-selection applications. Applications are due no later than Monday, Nov. 7. Prospective applicants are encouraged to watch the recorded info session to get tips on preparing a successful application and to hear from 2022 Summer Undergrad Research Fellow Moudar Dweydari about his experiences in the program.
