How to Request Solvent Refills

The SCS Storeroom provides bulk grade refills of the following chemicals:

• Acetone
• Hexane
• 190 Proof (95%) Ethanol
• 200 Proof (100%) Ethanol

In order to request a refill, you will need to drop off an empty container in the refill cabinet next to the fume hood in the Storeroom. Each container should be no larger than 5gal/20L. The container will need the following information:

• Chemical to be filled. If filling with ethanol, make sure to specify whether you would like 95% or 100%.
• NetID
• Account number

The refills are done each morning and are typically ready for pickup by 10:00AM. The refilled containers will be placed in the designated yellow cabinets in the Storeroom. If the container is cracked or damaged in any way, it will not be filled.

If you are outside of Roger Adams Lab and would like to have your containers picked up from your location and delivered to you when filled, send an email to solvents@scs.illinois.edu with the following information:

• Number of containers with size of each container and what chemicals are needed
• Building and room number where the containers should be picked up from and delivered to
• Account number
• NetID

Please note that there is an additional charge to F&S for transportation services.
