Nikki is originally from the Philippines, and grew up speaking Tagalog. She comes to us from Kraft-Heinz in Champaign, where her kids thought she "cooked Mac and Cheese all day," but she was actually an analytical food chemist. Nikki has a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

Britney is in the Honors program for Molecular and Cellular Biology.  She conducts microbiology research under the supervision of Prof. Brenda Wilson in MCB.  Her work investigates protein function and expression in bacterial toxins to understand the mechanism of toxin delivery.  She serves as an MCB Peer Advisor and a Student Leader at Carle Hospital.  Britney enjoys travel, adventures, and good food.

Trish is in Chemical and Molecular Engineering with a minor in Spanish.  She performs research in the lab of Prof. Mei Shen fabricating nanosensor probes for multifunctional detection of neurotransmitters, specifically acetylcholine in the brain (not hers).  Trish is an active member of AIChE and the Society of Women Engineers, in addition to serving as president of the campus women’s roller derby club (photo below).
