The SCS Storeroom will be responsible for the procurement, receiving, storage, pricing, and distribution of 20L solvent cans stored in their Solvent Room facility, room 96 RAL.

Solvents to be stored:

  • Acetone
  • Hexanes
  • Ethyl Acetate
  • Ethyl Ether 
  • Methyl Chloride
  • Chloroform 
  • Pentane
  • Xylene

Any changes to the par levels will be the responsibility of the SCS Storeroom.

Distribution Process:
Solvents will be distributed in person at the SCS Storeroom Solvent Room and larger quantities can be picked from staff for storage located in 96 RAL. Storeroom staff will charge accordingly at that time. All transactions will require a valid Netid and CFOP before completion.

Excluding University holidays and School of Chemical Sciences and Storeroom closures

Large orders can be submitted by emailing the SCS Storeroom at scs-solvents@illinois.edu to ensure quantity is available for purchase and for distribution during the hours listed above.

During off‐hours, solvent needs must be arranged in advance, and will be made available in the SCS Storeroom at 94 RAL.
