All Users
Sample analysis requests for CHN, Halide, Surface Area Analysis, and ICP are submitted through the FBS Web Portal. Requests for any other analysis should be emailed to the lab.
All samples for ICP, CHN, and Halide analysis must have an additional theoretical sample composition form attached to the corresponding FBS analysis request form.

Please read the sample submission guidelines for information on the required sample size and the types of samples appropriate for each technique.
If you have any questions about sample submission, please email the lab before you submit samples.
Notes for External Users
You must have an active TTA agreement with the Microanalysis Lab. Please email the lab to request an agreement, and one will be sent to you.
Once a TTA is in place, a member of staff will reach out regarding setting up an FBS account.
Login Issues: If you have an account and are having login issues, please email the lab, and include your TTA number. Do not use the Request Access link on the FBS website.
Haven't submitted in over a year? If it's been over a year since your lab has sent samples, email the lab to verify that the TTA is still active.
Notes for Internal Users
If you do not have an active login or are having difficulty logging in to your account, use your Illinois email to email the lab.
If you have never submitted samples to the Microanalysis Lab, please email the lab and include:
- Your Illinois email
- Your advisor’s name
- Your advisor’s email address.
