Repair and servicing of vacuum pumps and maintenance on a wide variety of lab equipment and instruments is provided by the Electrical Shop.

Electrical & Electromechanical Repair Process

Most repairs are performed in the Electronic Services shop areas. However, we do not have a central drop-off location as each of our various work areas specialize in particular types of electronics repair.  In addition, some repairs may be performed on-site, depending on the size of the item to be repaired and the type of repair required.

  1. Submit a work order for an Electronics Repair in Reaction at https://reaction.scs.illinois.edu/v2/shops/addWorkOrder
  2. You will be contacted by an Electronics Services staff member.
    • The staff member will provide a location and arrange a day/time for you to drop the item off OR
    • In limited circumstances, the staff member will arrange a time to come to your lab to examine and/or repair the item (NOTE: this is at ES staff discretion)
